movie Sculpture occupies spatial reality. You can feel peace of mind by experiencing it firsthand. The enjoyment of sculpture emanates from this sense of reality. Sculptures, like images, reveal momentary changes depending on the viewing angle, light, time, and emotions of those who experience them. The flowing moment of the image is impressed by the sensibilities of the viewer. When the imminence of death is felt, it is possible to imagine what lies between life and death. People cannot be born and die consciously, but these are entrances that everyone must pass through. I wanted to create an entrance to life with a form, strength, dread, and beauty that I had never seen before. As a child, I remember crawling through a small pillar hole in Todaiji Temple and experiencing an image of a perfect circle with a hole in it as I emerged from the tunnel. Based on this shape of a perfect circle with a hole, clay of the same shape was thrown and stacked on top of one another while trying as much as possible to not be conscious of the process. Instead of creating the intended form, I reconstructed it in a form that was born from an image and chance. This is similar to the act of a child enjoying molding clay. Touch, knead, and join(throw) the clay. Feel the clay with your body and use your imagination in the shape created by chance. It's a fun technique where you don't know what the form will be until it is completed. This is the fun and excitement of making things purely.
